Rush to complete economics media review : The History

Let's just say that this history has another history which repeated itself to become this history. Confusing? You'll find out soon enough.

Back in Form 1, there was once I have to do this project for my Sejarah(History) subject. So far, my latest sleeping record in the previous years were at about..say, 10.30pm? So that day, I did my work(last minute, duh!) until about 1.30am.

This was just the beginning.

History repeated itself during Form 4 (again), when I had to do an Additional Mathematics project about a bridge and some stuff to build it or something. I started at 11pm the day before it was due. Smart me right? Getting into trouble on purpose all the time.
So I did it(with the help of some kindred souls) and managed to finish it at 4.30am in the morning. All those time, I did not have a wink of sleep, and that 2 hours of sleep after the completion wasn't really enough. Ended up, I was pretty blur in school, came home and plainly hit the bed really hard but didn't really felt the impact.

Then history repeated itself (again again), this year itself where I had to do this Economics media review for my Economics for Business subject. So the idea was to find an article and write economical stuffs about it...and...I started at 11pm (yes, that really fits the 11th hour saying), then went off to sleep at about 1am. Then clambered back to the computer at about 4pm, and managed to get it done before school started. Can say I was pretty lucky I managed to get it done and away with. Whatsmore, the due time was 8am in the morning...you can imagine my rush...

All I want is broadband...

To those who have not seen me online for awhile, I have not gone off the face of the earth, just for your information. I used to always hog the streamyx at night, to read emails, to read blogs, to get my butt kicked by people so I would do my almost due assignments, sometimes just to stare blankly at the screen.

But then, last Saturday, an really heavy storm hit my puny area. Leaves of trees swayed violently in the winds, roads flowing endlessly with water, and some dirt here and there. Electricity at my house tripped for about 3 times before we gave up pushing the button back. Suspected the streamyx must've got hit during the storm fiasco.

The modem is working fine, the computer is working fine as well. SOMEHOW, the DSL light on the modem never stopped blinking!

Blink...Blink...Blink...Blink...

Okay, so I thought maybe it was the post-storm unable-to-connect syndrome. So I left it as that. The next day(it wasn't raining, sunshine whole day long), it was STILL blinking, much to my unamazement. My mother was more worried than me(hey, they're paying for it). Called the customer care service line and the person just told me that some servers are down in the Klang Valley area.
Okay, so I thought. Maybe it'll be okay in a few days.

The next day, I called again, just to ask how it was(I was forced okay! ><). Weird, I received another answer.
"All servers in Damansara is working. Maybe you can try troubleshooting. Have you tried troubleshooting before?"

O_o So I did what the person told me to do.

Option 1 : Plug the phone line into the modem directly without going through the splitter. Then see if the light stops blinking.

Option 2 : Unplug all lines which are plugged into the modem. Wait for about 5-10 minutes before plugging back all wires into the modem, then see if the light still blinks.

Option 3 : Call a Streamyx technician.

Well obviously the person will reserve the last option till the problem becomes pathetically severe. He told me to call back if the troubleshooting doesn't work.
Okay, I thanked him, put down the phone, and did what he told me.

And guess what??

It didn't work!
#(&)&E)*W_$#&*)$^%_&&R&)$&I#)&_$^_!!!!!!!

So I called back yet the next day(third day in the running), and THIS time, a lady answered, telling me that they won't send a technician yet, but will file a report for me so the technicians could clarify the problem.

I'm like, "What the f___?" <---i did not say this out loud, just in my own thoughts

So I asked what I should do. She said give them 24-48 working hours for them to clarify the problem.

Right....

The person who was on the phone seemed pissed. FYI, I'm pissed too. Pissed by the fact that I have to spend my time at the library to do my ONLINE research! when i can actually do it in the comfort of my own home.

Heavy sigh...what the heck can i do now? I don't really like using the line internet because nobody can call in, and we can't call out either. Cyber cafes will burn a hole in my pocket and ear drums (hello??? gamer freaks are there!!)

Oh well. So two days ago, I took the bus from Kelana Jaya LRT station for the first time to Taylor's College.
I thought, no sweat! must be at the same place as I wait for the bus when I go home.

Little did I know this was a different bus. It just doesn't stop there, it's stops somewhere else near there. And me being the new noobie in college, I don't know the geography of the area too well, and I missed my stop.

No surprise really. I must have been kinda doped or something when I should have followed that obvious bunch of students down a particular stop the bus made. Ended up going back to KJ station. Took another bus going there. This time I got off the RIGHT stop, and walked to the hetol-lookalike(I still think that way, the glassy building makes it look like that) Taylor's Business School! =D yayayayayayay!

Today I took the bus again. I'm just too lazy to drive when I have insufficient coins. :P Hey come on, I don't want to get summons for illegal parking here.

My record time of reaching to college is one hour and 10 minutes so far. Got delayed abit because I had to wait for the bus to go Taylor's.

Now I have to concentrate on my assignments, which have to been put aside for quite a long time since the semester commmenced.

Now, if you don't mind, I shall continue on with my assignment *puts on glasses and nerdy look and proceeds to comb through books for juicy infos*

P.S. Just realised this morning that buses are always punctual before lunchtime. Hell breaks loose after lunch time. Two days ago, I waited for a bus at 3.49pm. until 5pm and there wasn't any bus at all!!!! Damn not-so-Rapid KL buses!!! But sometimes I don't really blame them. How do u expect them to move in a heavy traffic when you can only move about an inch every 10 minutes? In the end, I took a taxi home(ignoring the fact that it's extremely dangerous of girls to take a taxi to any places whatsoever) and it costed me RM15!!! (Amanda, I'm sorry!! I was desperate, okay!!! ;_;) Reached home and called Dad to pick me up from the station. It's been a long day...

To those people who double park

You know what? Ever since I started driving to college, there is sure to be AT LEAST one car who double parked behind or beside mine, which would obviously prevent me from reversing or driving out my car unless I'm so desperate to scratch the accused's car on his account.

I hate honking to actually get someone to drive the said car away because people would be looking at me as if I'm honking them for attention (perasan-ted people...).

Everytime I car double parks(which is actually everytime), I feel like doing this:

Erm...pardon me ugly drawing, I used the mouse. Scanner not cooperating with me.

On the other hand, one of my college friend mentioned about this one:

U know who u are...I was so blur when u mentioned the joke :P

Oh well, for those who drives and kena this almost sometimes(or like me, everytime), you'd know the feeling.

Just wanna release my feelings. I hope people can be more civilised sometimes. Maybe the words "Malaysia is a developing country with third world mentality" is true. Sigh...

Marketing exam tomorrow. Gotta hit the books. Ciao~

April Fool's Day 2006

Just for fun.
